Sewing at the Beach 2018

Let it snow, let it snow.....seems to the theme of the annual gathering in Myrtle Beach, SC for Sewing at the Beach 2018. It snowed last year and this year to start off, making it hard for attendees and teachers alike to get to the Hilton. But nothing, I mean nothing, stops sewers and stitchers from getting to their planned retreat to do what they love!!

Here are some photos of a few classes in progress.
This is my rack of samples and other goodies that I set up in class for students to touch and feel.
Here's part of my classroom with the project, the Carmen Doll Ball Gown, highlighted in front. The ladies were working hard on pin tucking the fabric!
Jeannie Baumeister of the Old Fashioned Baby was teaching down the hall from my market booth so I took a quick photo of her classroom. She's a marvelous teacher of so many beautiful techniques, and a very good friend as well.
And here's a sneak peek into the Babylock classroom. Babylock is a sponsor of Sewing at the Beach and always has fun projects and classes to offer.

It was a wonderful week of seeing old friends, meeting new ones, shopping at the SATB Market to buy many wonderful sewing and stitching supplies, and enjoying superb classes!! Many, many thanks to the Stranded Smockers and Stitchers (a SAGA Chapter) for putting Sewing at the Beach on for 25 fantastic years!!!
