Grandma Camp 2

Our 12- year old granddaughter, Jillian, wanted to make jewelry with me, something any young girl is interested in. She wanted to make earrings. I had ordered findings from Fire Mountain Gems in anticipation of her request. They have reasonable prices and just about any item you would need for jewelry crafts. I ordered beads, various pierced earrings (studs and wires) and some clasps.

We set up in the dining room: more room on the table, and hauled the supplies and lighting there. She had a hard time deciding what style to make but came up with ideas after looking at a beading book and some beading magazines. Then we went to work.
Here she's mastering opening the loop of the earring to attach what she made. Concentration!!
Then it was on to the costume she wanted to make for Halloween this fall...this girl's organized getting it done way before it's needed. She had found a You Tube video for a unicorn costume and had brought all the supplies with her for the head (hat), wrist "hooves" and leg "hooves".  Here she's pinning the feather boa pieces to the unicorn head/hat.
Not exactly my kind of unicorn, but she was very happy with the results and absolutely pleased to be taking home her completed costume! Grandma Camp was a success.
