Seduction

Every now and then, with perfectly good intentions of working ongoing projects, I get seduced...by another project of course! It happened when I read my latest Embroiderer's Guild of America newsletter. A lovely, little project was attached as a free download. Of course I had to check it out and BAM! another great little, fun project to do popped into my lap: "Summer's Glory".

It's a cute little Altoids tin covered in an embroidered and beaded top! The photo above gives you the idea. For whatever reason, I've always wanted to make one. Guess it's because it re-purposes something that is normally thrown away, such a waste!

I chose slightly different DMC embroidery floss colors than what was called for because I wanted to use from my stash. Fabric is also from stash: the cotton sateen leftover from my bedroom re-decoration that I wrote about in 2020. And packed into a neat zippered pouch for ease, organization and ready-to-move capability.

I've already done the two-toned "wheat stitch": one line each of outline and stem stitch close together, working it in the covered hoop and set into my floor stand. So much guilty pleasure working on a new project!

  1. I look forward to seeing it complete. I love those little Altoids Tins decked out. Your title to this post was most intriguing! Seduction!! You are so right that we are seduced by pretty projects but I never though of it quite like that!!
